Shawarma is marinated all day in seasonings and spices like garlic, turmeric, dried lime, cinnamon, and cardamom, giving it a complex flavor both tangy and warm.

How to make Shawarma ?
Time : 35-40 minutes
Servings : 4
Ingredients :
- Chicken breast
- Yugurt
- Bell peppers
- Onion
- Cinnamon
- Turmeric
- Cardamom
- Cumin
- Tahini sauce
- Olive oil
Method :
- First wash and slice 3-4 chicken breast.
- Now, marinate the chicken slices with yogurt and spices.
- Slice bell peppers and onion.
- Drizzle all the ingredients on the plate/sheet with tahini sauce and extra virgin olive oil.
- Bake all the things on an oven plate/sheet (180° 20-25 minutes).
- After 25 minutes, take out the sheet from oven and serve hot.

Chicken shawarma recipe (restaurant style):

Ingredients :
- Plain yogurt
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp cardamom
- 2 tsp turmeric
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 large boneless skinless chicken breast
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 red bell peppers
- sliced onion
- ½ cup tahini Sauce
{Ingredients for tahini sauce :
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- ⅓ cup olive oil more
- ½ cup lemon juice
- ⅔ cup water
- ½ tsp salt}
Preparation for tahini sauce :
- Prepare the tahini sauce by placing all ingredients in a sized bowl and whisking together with a fork or whisker until smooth.
Tahini sauce is ready.
Method for Shawarma :
Syep 1 :
- Wash and slice chicken into 1 inch (approx) pieces.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Step 2 :
- Take a large bowl and mix yogurt with cumin, cardamom, turmeric, cinnamon and salt.
- Add the chicken to the mixture and marinade properly. Keep aside.
Step 3 :
- Spread 1 tbsp of olive oil onto a large baking sheet.
- Pour sliced chicken, sliced onions and sliced bell peppers on the baking sheet and drizzle with the olive oil.
Step : 4
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20 minutes until chicken is cooked.
- Onions and peppers should be tender.
Step 5 :
- Now take out the chicken from the oven and spread the Tahini sauce over it.
- Place the chicken and roasted veggies in a serving plate and serve with cucumber and tomatoes.

Ingredients :
- 500g boneless chicken
- 1½ tbsp dark brown sugar
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp kosher salt/ normal salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- 5 garlic cloves (minced)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
Preparation :
Step 1 :
- Place a foil paper on a sheet pan (or plastic wrap for easy cleanup).
- Let chicken out on a prepared pan.
Step 2 :
- Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
- Stir well to make a wet paste.
- Now coat the chicken on all sides and cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-4 hours.
Step 2
- Prepare a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high flame.
- Oil the grills to prevent from sticking.
Step 4 :
- Grill the chicken pieces until all sides are golden.
- Turn after every 2 minutes (for about 8-10 minutes) per side.
Pour out the chicken pieces in a serving plate and serve with Tomato Cucumber Salad.
